GRAPPLER'S EDGE ACADEMY

Colorado's First and Foremost Grappling, Submission Fighting and MMA Academy, Grappler's Edge is the home of the 14 Time U.S. National or International Jiu Jitsu and/or Grappling Team Champions.

Grappler's Edge Team Members have competed in tournaments and competitions all over the United States, as well as in Abu Dhabi, UAE; Antalya, Turkey; Kiev, Ukraine; Lamia, Greece; Krackow, Poland; Lucerne, Switzerland; Rio De Jenero, Brazil; Sao Paulo, Brazil and Tokyo, Japan.

Grappler's Edge Team Members have won National and International Championships in Judo, Wrestling, Pankration and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA); as well as 15 U.S. National or International Team Titles in Jiu Jitsu and Grappling (Submission Wrestling) to date.

Grappler's Edge has had as many (or more) Team Members qualify to and/or represent the United States at the FILA World Grappling Championships than any other team in the nation!

2007: Bahar Shahidi (2nd at World Championships), Ricky Lundell (World Champion) & Malcolm Havens (World Champion).

2008: Bahar Shahidi (Qualifier), Ricky Lundell (World Champion), Angela Poe (3rd at World Championships) & Brandon Ruiz (2nd at World Championships).

2009: Bahar Shahidi (2nd at World Championships), Angelique Rein (Qualifier), James Dinette (Team USA), Shane Cross (Qualifier) & Brandon Ruiz (2nd at World Championships).

2010: Bahar Shahidi (Qualifier), Shane Cross (Qualifer) & Brandon Ruiz (Qualifier).

*** Coach Sheldon Marr has been a U.S. Coach on all four U.S. World Grappling Teams (2007-2010)!!!

The Grappler's Edge training facility has locker rooms, showers and two separate workout rooms. The small [1,000 sf] "Boxing" room has wall to wall mats, hanging heavy bags, Thai bags, uppercut bags, speed bags, double ended bags, as well as several mirrors (for shadow boxing and jump rope stations). The large [2,000 sf] room has wall to wall mats, a climbing rope, as well as padded walls. Coach Marr says the padded walls are for safety, but also add reality to the training; as you can continue the fight when you reach the wall "Just as you would on the street… or in the Octagon."
